Taiwan Earthquake Danger
Taiwan is on the “ring of fire”, a string of volcanoes and seismic activities. This means that Taiwan is fated to experience a lot of earthquakes. Indeed, Taiwan experiences approximately 100 earthquakes each day. However, most of them are too small to be felt.
Additionally, Taiwan is located at a tectonic plate boundary between the Eurasian Plate and the Philippine Sea Plate, making it even more prone to earthquakes. Although Taiwan has 42 active faults, this tectonic plate boundary is usually the source of major earthquakes in Taiwan
